seeking a mature leader

what are you looking for in leadership…charisma…someone who knows what to say when you need to hear it? well, not me! i’m personally tired of people who are all talk. i need maturity! i want to know that the person i’m looking to for answers has been around the block a few times. i’m not even looking for leadership that has it all together, wrapped in a perfect package. i’m looking for the one who’s been through the fire, survived the fire, and come out stronger and better equipped to lead!!! this is the kind of leader i want to be!

“consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” –james 1:2-4

“we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. and hope does not disappoint us.” –Romans 5:3-5

i don’t know about you, but i need to see hope in god alive in christian leaders…leaders who have character, who have persevered, who have been tried and tested and rejoiced in their suffering because of what it has produced.

so, if you feel called to leadership…let the maturity begin!
