A Thorn In The Flesh
We all have that one thing (or maybe two) we hate about ourselves. That thing we strive to get rid of and seek help for. We all have a thorn in the flesh.
The apostle Paul said it like this in 2 Corinthians 12:7-9: ”To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
I don’t like to think of the idea that I will always have my weaknesses. I am an overcomer! But, I am weak. I need God more today than ever. The more I know of God, the more weakness I see in myself, and the more I must rely on Him.
So, regarding my weaknesses, I’m not giving in to them…I’m giving them to God. I will strive for more and better, but I can’t allow myself to live according to my strength. It’s all up to God! He’s the strength in this chic’s life.
