In The Mirror

Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought you looked okay, but then you saw a picture of yourself…you looked awful? That’s happened to me so many times!

What makes us see things as okay one minute, then later we see it so differently? Maybe…our eyes are opened to truth. Maybe…we aren’t seeing as clearly as we think we are. Maybe…if we just step back from the mirror and look from a different angle, we can see the whole picture.

1 Corinthians 13:12 says, ”Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully.” I believe this verse speaks of heaven…when we get to see God face to face.

I also believe that as we grow in the Lord, the reflection becomes clearer. The more we know God, the more like Him we become. He reveals Himself to us more each day as we lay more of ourselves at His feet.

We have so much to look forward to in heaven and in this life. Take steps to grow closer to God. Don’t take your prayer time and Bible reading time lightly. Make it the most important part of your day. You will discover yourself through it! Even better…you will discover God through it!
