Winter Fashion

I thought it was about time for a fashion update. Of course with Christmastime, I’ve spent alot of time at the various malls in our area. Even when I’m not really shopping for myself, I’m looking at what’s new and exciting. So, if you have some extra Christmas $$$ leftover, you may want to check out a few of these…

Shopping:

Saks Fifth Avenue, Florida Mall–Juicy Couture handbags are on sale, which practically never happens. They’re 25% off! I was able to get a great big bag for a great price. I found a black patent leather with gold hardware which at first glance you’d swear was an extremely expensive Dior (the saleslady thought it was until she looked closer because of the price).

Betsey Johnson, Mall at Millenia–best handbags by far! You can get a great bag that will have people stopping you everywhere you go commenting on your great taste. Their jewelry is incredibly fun, too. This is prom and homecoming dress heaven! (they’ll even keep record of your name, school, and dress so noone else will show up at your school’s dance in your dress)

Forever 21–Everyone’s favorite discount fashion store! I found some adorable sweaters and wool jumpers. This truly is the most awesome store for en vogue fashion variety. The accessories are so incredible. I always leave this store with a huge silly grin on my face. Of course, these clothes won’t last forever, but they’re fun for the short life they live. Check out their expanding shoe line, too (cute satin ballet flats for only $17).

Old Navy–another cheap yet fashionable place to shop when you don’t have alot to spend. You can especially add to your jeans wardrobe!

Nordstrom, Florida Mall–great sale on designer jeans. There’s nothing like designer jeans to make your butt feel smaller even if it’s only an illusion. If you’ve never been to their Blue Plum section, you’re totally missing out on great prices, great fashion, fun jewelry, handbags, and the best cheap sunglasses.

Winter fashion tips:

nails: go brave…navy, plum, berry, red (red is on all the Louis Vuitton models’ nails; they always wear next season’s “it” color; I’ve never gone wrong by wearing what I see in their ads)

makeup: natural with something bright…go natural but add a bright lip, bright eye makeup, or bright cheek (only one…you don’t want to look like a hooker)

handbags–go extreme…either super big or super small…get a big patent leather bag which will hold everything or get a cute clutch in a bright color, sequined, or bejeweled.

clothes: glitz and shine…if it has satin, sequins, or jewels attached buy it. I don’t think the wide leg is going anywhere so buy at least a pair of wideleg jeans; 7 for all mankind has a great pair named Ginger and they’re priced under $150 (these are an investment piece you’ll be glad you saved up for).

color: in the next few months with Spring approaching, we’re going to see alot of color. Fuschia, purple, yellow, hot reds and bright blues…so get ready to add some color to your blacks and greys.

Don’t forget, fashion should be fun not nauseating. So don’t get frustrated if you can’t buy all the expensive stuff. Save that for birthdays and times when you have a fat bank account. I think it’s most fun to go cheap so you can shop every weekend! And…if you’re credit card age, don’t go into debt for fahion that’s all the rage one season and scoffed at the next. Make it fun and make it you!

  2. Just stumbled across your blog, glad I did! :) Ahh… I used to live in that area. I miss the O-town malls. Anyhow, aren’t those Ginger jeans gorgeous!?! Have you looked at any of the Kathy Van Zeeland bags? They are my new obsession (and I’m not normally a purse gal).
